At under 500 million years old, Lorriandrey is very young. Given that young age and the presence of a large, nearby moon, it can be determined that the moon co-formed with its parent. The system's young age also explains why the inner gas giant, seen transiting the sun in the above image, hasn't 'bumped' Lorriandrey into a new orbit. The gas giant is so close that, on either side of the black disk, a dot can be seen; these are two of the gas giant's moons. Given the gas giant's proximity, Lorriandrey's days are numbered. On a more positive not, the extremely hot temperatures make the oceans an excellent hot tub.

As for the unrest running rampant through the crew, it appears we have passed the point of no return. Intelligence gathered by our small contingent of five military police points towards a complete mutiny by the engine works personelle. Arrests would normally be made, but this would result in no one to supervise the engines or their dedicated reactors. Instead we will wait for them to make their move and try to make the best of it. The entire ship stands on the edge of the abyss and we look out across it, holding our breaths; Shima-Van Horne is en route but will arrive in time to find only the aftermath.
